Tile

A floor tile with traces of a yellow glaze on the surface. It is made of grey clay with a red clay surface and has traces of plaster on the back. Found on the site of the Palace of Placentia at Greenwich. This was one of the principal royal residences throughout the Tudor and early Stuart Periods. The Greenwich Hospital building, now a university occupies the site today.
