A brown, salt-glazed stoneware jar, which probably held spirits, excavated from a well or cess pit behind the 'Plume of Feathers' public house, Greenwich, during building work in 1983. '2' is impressed below the neck and the name of the retailer 'JOHN VICKERS AND SONS WINE & SPIRIT MERCHANTS 133 TOOLEY ST BOROUGH'.
