A distant view of the light cruiser HMS Cleopatra (1915) engaged in gunnery practice.
A view from the starboard bow of the light cruiser HMS Aurora (1913) looking towards the stern of the light cruiser HMS Cleopatra (1915) in the distance. In the foreground on the forecastle deck are filled ready-use ammunition racks for the forward six-inch gun.
The Cleopatra is engaged in gunnery practice with her guns firing over the starboard side. Smoke from the guns and the funnels can be seen.
Aurora was only at sea for 'aiming practice' on 11 May off Cork Light Vessel between 907am and 1132am. On later exercises she was involved with range taking and torpedo attack practice (22 & 23 May).
The negative has some scratches across it and a figure print to the right of the Cleopatra's smoke.
