A Tongkung type junk anchored at Singapore

A starboard quarter view, taken from fine off the stern, of a Tongkung type junk anchored at Singapore. She is ketch rigged with a bowsprit, two masts fitted with gaffs and the mizzen mast has a boom. She has an awning rigged aft of her mizzen mast and she is laden. A sampan numbered 2057 and with an occuli is alongside the stern. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
