A stern view of two Tongkung type junks moored bow-on to the shore at Singapore. Although ketch rigged, both vessels appear to have the mainmast removed and the vessel on the right does not have a gaff on the mizzen mast. They both have a mizzen boom and an awning rigged aft of the mizzen mast. Both vessels have a name on the transom, the one on the left may be Kim G Peng or something similar. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
