The bow of a Tongkung type junk at Singapore

A close-up view of the port bow of a Tongkung type junk moored at Singapore. The photographer is very close to the bow looking to starboard and slightly aft showing two steel anchors suspended from a beam just abaft the stem post. The bowsprit is lashed to the stem post. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
