A Malay ketch rigged vessel moored at Singapore
A close-up view of the stern of a Malay ketch rigged vessel moored at Singapore. The photographer is in a boat close to her port quarter looking forward and to starboard. She has a white painted hull with a wide dark band above the waterline and a narrow dark band at deck level. Her two steering oars are housed up. She has washing on a line above the deck and a number of men on deck are looking at the photographer. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
