A two masted Twaqo type junk berthed bow-on to the shore at Singapore

A starboard very near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of a Twaqo type two masted junk berthed bow-on to the shore at Singapore. The swim headed bow has an occuli. A thin pole mast set at the bow is sloping forward and the lug sails are stowed. The lower part of the tiller operated rudder is perforated. A foot plank connects the boat to the shore. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938. A vertical format negative.
