A peaked stern Twaqo type junk berthed bow-on to the shore at Singapore

A bow view of a peaked stern Twaqo type junk moored bow-on to the shore at Singapore. The vessel is of the two masted type and the lug sails are stowed fore and aft. She is swim headed and has occuli on the bow and mock painted ports along her sides. Her steel anchor is hanging down from her bow. A windlass is on the forecastle and another is to port of the mainmast. An accommodation shelter is aft and the tops of her masts are out of the picture. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
