A peaked stern Twaqo type junk moored bow-on to the shore at Singapore

A port side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of a peaked stern Twaqo type junk moored bow-on to the shore at Singapore. The vessel is of the two masted type and the lug sails are stowed fore and aft. She is swim headed, has occuli on the bow and mock painted ports along her sides. An accommodation shelter is aft and her large rudder is perforated. Other junks are moored beyond her. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
