A starboard quarter view of a Tonkin type junk moored bow-on to the shore at Singapore. The vessel is of the three masted type. The tops of her main and mizzen masts are out of the picture. A platform extends well abaft the sternpost and has an awning above it. Her wooden rudder is perforated. Piles of logs are on the quayside. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
