A port side view of a Hong Kong C/B trader type junk anchored in the Singapore River
A port side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of a Hong Kong C/B type junk anchored in the Singapore River. She is a three masted vessel and her lug sails are stowed fore and aft. She has an accommodation shelter aft and an overhanging stern with a perforated rudder. Her bow is of the horn type with her bulwarks extended forward. The General Post Office building is in the left background. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
