A port bow view of an occuli C/B trader junk anchored in the Singapore River
A port bow view, taken from fine off the bow, of an occuli C/B trader junk anchored in the Singapore River. The vessel is three masted and her lug sails are stowed fore and aft. She has occuli on either side of the bow. An awning is rigged aft and a sampan is alongside. The port number 3098 is painted on her bulwark. The General Post Office building is in the left background. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938. Negatives numbers P34018 to P34020 inclusive are of the same junk.
