A port beam view of a sampan on the concrete ramp at RAF Seletar on the Johore Strait at Singapore.
A port broadside view of a sampan on the concrete ramp of RAF Seletar flying boat base on the Johore Strait at Singapore. The boat is probably new and has an occuli painted on the bow. A man is standing behind the boat. On the water in the background are two Short S.19 Singapore III flying boats of either 205 or 230 Squadrons RAF and another is on the extreme left of the picture. A small steam powered cargo vessel is alongside the pier. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938. Negatives numbers P34024 to P34026 inclusive are of the same boat, taken on the same occasion.
