On the water in the background are two Short S.19 Singapore III flying boats of either 205 or 230 Squadrons RAF. A small steam powered cargo vessel is alongside the pier. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938. Negatives numbers P34024 to P34026 inclusive are of the same boat, taken on the same occasion.
