Sampans in the sampan harbour near the FMS Railway Station pier at Penang
Five sampans moored stern-on to the quay in the sampan harbour near the FMS Railway station pier at Penang. The boats all have occuli on their bow. People and bicycles are on the landing stage and a Royal Navy motor launch, probably from HMS Eagle (1918), is approaching the landing stage. A cargo liner is alongside a pier in the background. The photographer was at Penang 28 February to 7 March 1938.
