On board a two masted trading junk which is anchored in Penang harbour. The photographer is on the port side of the deck abreast the forward hold looking aft. The after hold has tarpaulin covers. Her lug sails are stowed fore and aft and she has an tattered awning rigged aft above the poop accommodation. The photographer was at Penang from 28 February to 7 March 1938. Negatives numbers P34052 to P34054 inclusive were taken on board the same vessel.
