A starboard broadside view of the Canton salt junk T493H anchored at Hong Kong. Her fore and mizzen sails are stowed fore and aft. Her mainsail has been removed and an awning is rigged aft.. Her port number T493H and another number, possibly 1623, are painted on her bow. Her accommodation ladder is deployed and her rudder is perforated. Another junk is in the right background and a steamship is alongside a wharf on the left. The photographer was in the area in the following periods: 6 to 28 May 1937; 14 October 1937 to 8 January 1938; 14 April to 4 June 1938 and 8 to 12 September 1938.
