A port near broadside view of the forepart of the Hong Kong small trader type junk T3512H under sail at Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong. The photographer is in a boat abeam the mainmast looking to starboard and slightly forward showing members of the crew skulling between the fore and main masts. Two wooden rectangular boards are stood on the bulwark. The upper masts are out of the picture. Flat roofed buildings with balconies are in the background. The photographer was in the area in the following periods: 6 to 28 May 1937; 14 October 1937 to 8 January 1938; 14 April to 4 June 1938 and 8 to 12 September 1938.
