A model of a steel anchor as used by Chinese junks

A model of a steel anchor of the type used by Chinese junks. It has twin flukes hinged on a stock and a rod is fitted at right angles to the flukes and immediately above them. A swivel shackle is fitted to the top of the stock. The model, which is displayed on a table, was commissioned by D W Waters and made by Tung Ya and his assistants at the back of the Roman Catholic Church in Liu Kung Tao, near Weihaiwei.
