A port broadside view of the Indian kotia type dhow Karimi (fl.1938) anchored at Colombo, Ceylon. She has awnings rigged amidships and aft and a small boat is alongside amidships. Other kotias and the Royal Navy heavy cruiser Cumberland (1926) are in the background. The photographer was taking passage in the Cumberland (1926) from Singapore to the U.K. at the time.
