A port quarter view of an Indian kotia type dhow anchored at Colombo, Ceylon

A slightly distant port quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of an Indian kotia type dhow anchored at Colombo, Ceylon. A small boat is alongside her waist and a wooden box is suspended over the side at the fore end of the poop. Her red ensign is hoisted. The photographer was taking passage on the Royal Navy heavy cruiser Cumberland (1926) from Singapore to the U.K. at the time. The image is very slightly unsharp.
