An Indian kotia type dhow anchored at Colombo, Ceylon

A port broadside view of the fore part of an Indian kotia type dhow anchored at Colombo, Ceylon. The photographer is abreast her foremast looking to starboard showing her foresail set. Small boats are alongside her waist apparently working cargo. The tops of her mainyard and her poop are out of the picture. In the background is the Royal Navy heavy cruiser Cumberland (1926). The photographer was taking passage on the Cumberland (1926) from Singapore to the U.K. at the time. The image is slightly unsharp.
