A close detail of the starboard side of the Indian kotia type dhow Karimi (fl.1938) anchored at Colombo, Ceylon, taken from abaft her quarter looking forward, to port and up showing her masts and the upper part of her hull. She has awnings rigged amidships and aft. The port side of her stern and her waterline are out of the picture. The photographer was taking passage in the heavy cruiser Cumberland (1926) from Singapore to the U.K. at the time.
