A close detail of the port side of the Indian kotia type dhow Karimi (fl.1938) anchored at Colombo, Ceylon, showing her masts and the poop. She has awnings rigged amidships and aft. Her hull and her stern are out of the picture. The photographer was taking passage in the heavy cruiser Cumberland (1926) from Singapore to the U.K. at the time.
