A close detail of the stemhead of an Indian kotia type dhow at Colombo, Ceylon. viewed from the starboard side. The iron anchor is lashed to the stem and the stemhead is ornately carved. The photographer was taking passage on the Royal Navy heavy cruiser Cumberland (1926) from Singapore to the U.K. at the time.
