A close view of the port side of the stern of the Indian kotia type dhow Karimi (fl.1938) anchored at Colombo, Ceylon. The photographer is abreast the stern looking to starboard showing the poop and the lower mainmast. An awning is rigged aft and another is over the aft end of the waist. The heavy cruiser Cumberland (1926) is in the background and the photographer was taking passage in her from Singapore to the U.K. at the time.
