A port side view, taken from abaft the beam, of a five masted Pechili trader type junk under sail at Weihaiwei. She has a lug sail hoisted at each of her five masts. A skulling oar is being used amidships. In the right background is the Royal Navy tug St Breock (1919). The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938.
