A close view of the port side of the bow, taken from just abaft the beam, of a five masted Pechili trader type junk anchored at Weihaiwei. Only her hull, bow mast and fore mast are in the picture. The bow mast is stepped on the rubbing strake outside the hull. Her bow sail and foresail are stowed fore and aft and the tops of her masts are out of the picture. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938. Negative number P34322 is the same vessel.
