On board a five masted Pechili trader type junk anchored at Weihaiwei. The photographer is standing on the starboard side of the poop looking forward showing the massive rudder post on the left with an oil lamp abreast of it. A cargo steamer is in the background. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938. A vertical format negative.
