The starboard sterns of the Pechili trader type junks 1091 and 3705 moored at Tsingtao. The tops of their mizzen masts and quarter masts are out of the picture, as is everything forward of the mainmast. 3705 has a line out astern and the number 34859 is on a small board under the bulwark rail. A Pechili trader with leeboards is berthed in the left background. The photographer's ship was at Tsingtao on the two occasions 22 July to 13 August 1937 and 17 August to 5 September 1937. Number 1091 can be seen in negatives numbers P34324 and P34327 to P34333 inclusive and number 3705 is in negatives numbers P34324, P34327 and P34330 to P34333 inclusive.
