A line of trader junks berthed at Tsingtao showing the starboard bows of five which include numbers 1325, 1633 and the Pechili trader type junks 3705 and 1091. The bow sail of 1091 is hoisted to dry. On the right are a number of smaller trader junks including number 0147. Five men have an anchor rope in a sampan and are hauling themselves along a line running shorewards from the bow of a junk. The photographer's ship was at Tsingtao on the two occasions 22 July to 13 August 1937 and 17 August to 5 September 1937. Number 1091 can be seen in negatives numbers P34324 and P34327 to P34333 inclusive and number 3705 is in negatives numbers P34324, P34327 and P34330 to P34333 inclusive.
