On board a five masted Ta-Pu-To trader type junk while under sail off Weihaiwei. The photographer is on the foredeck looking forward and to starboard showing the stepping of the bow mast in the starboard forward corner. The starboard anchor is resting on the bow and a lug sail is set on the bow mast. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938. Negatives numbers P34355 to P34362 inclusive are on board the same vessel.
