On board a five masted Ta-Pu-To trader type junk while under sail off Weihaiwei. The photographer is in the waist abaft the foremast looking forward showing the stepping of the bow mast in the starboard forward corner of the forecastle. Her anchors are resting on the bow and a lug sail is set on the bow mast. A crewman is leaning against the foremast. The photographer's ship, the aircraft carrier Eagle (1918), can be seen in the background and she was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938. Negatives numbers P34355 to P34362 inclusive are on board the same vessel.
