Her anchors are resting on the bow and a lug sail is set on the bow mast. A crewman is leaning against the foremast. The photographer's ship, the aircraft carrier Eagle (1918), can be seen in the background and she was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938.
