A close starboard midship detail of a Pechili trader type junk berthed at Weihaiwei. The junk has a leeboard which is stowed against the side of the vessel and a sampan is alongside. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938.
