The forepart of a Pechili trader type junk beached at Weihaiwei
The forepart of a Pechili trader type junk beached at Weihaiwei. The photographer is on the foreshore aft of the partially dismantled bow section looking from amidships forward and slightly to port. The vessel is either being broken up or she has been in collison and cut in two. The jagged edges of the hull and deck planking would suggest a collision. A large number of junks are moored in the background. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938.
