Two Chefoo fisher or small trader type junks moored at Tsingtao. The boat on the right is moored stern-on to the shore, has an awning rigged over the stowed mainsail and her port number is 0072. The junk in the centre is moored bow-on to the shore, her mainsail is stowed across the port quarter and her rudder is raised. The tops of their masts are out of the picture. The sampan on the left is moored bow-on to the shore, has an awning rigged and has the number 1 in a circle painted on the quarter. The photographer's ship was at Tsingtao in the periods 22 July to 13 August 1937 and 17 August to 5 September 1937. A vertical format negative.
