A starboard broadside view of the Antung trader type junk 1307 under sail at Weihaiwei. She is well laden with some deck cargo and two of her crew are using skulling oars by the foremast. Dimly discernible in the right background are the Royal Navy heavy cruisers Cumberland (1926) and Suffolk (1926). The photographer was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938.
