The photographer is looking forward along the starboard side showing a crew member using a skulling oar up forward while another oar is laid on the deck. She has a deck cargo covered with matting. In the background is the Royal Navy light cruiser Birmingham (1936). The photographer was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938. Rolled film negative. The Birmingham was only present in the periods 10 June to 13 July 1938 and 30 July to 4 September 1938.
