A close view of the port quarter of a Foochow pole junk (trader) anchored at Weihaiwei. The stern is highly decorative and sampans are alongside the starboard quarter. Her sails are stowed and the top of her mizzen mast is out of the picture, as is everything forward of the mainmast.
