A port quarter view of the Lorcha type junk 1438 mooring at Shanghai.
A port quarter view of the Lorcha type junk 1438 mooring at Shanghai. Her sails are stowed and she is manoeuvring alongside the Foochow pole junk 4573. She has a boat suspended from beams over the stern and another is at davits on the port quarter. The tops of her main and mizzen masts are out of the picture. The photographer's ship was in Northern Chinese waters in the periods 3 June to 10 October 1937 and 8 June to 4 September 1938. Negatives numbers P34451 and P34453 are also of this vessel.
