A slightly distant port broadside view of the Ningpo fisher type junk 0171 under sail at Weihaiwei. She is a two masted spritsail rigged vessel with a small rectangular foresail. Her mainsail has a bonnet and is secured by a large number of lines to her stern. She has an occuli at the bow and an oil lamp on her port quarter. Her port number 0171 is painted twice on her hull and the number 75124 is on a small board on her port quarter. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 - 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938. Negatives numbers P34454 to P34458 inclusive are of this vessel.
