A close view of the fore part of the fisher sampan 128 on shore at Weihaiwei

A view of the fore part, taken fromoff the starboard side amidships looking forward and to port, of the fisher sampan 128 pulled up on the beach at Weihaiwei. She has occuli on her bow, her port number is painted on the forward bulwark and she has three thole pins on her bow. A different kind of fisher sampan is on the beach next to her and this boat has a raised forward bulwark and two pairs of thole pins on the bow. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938. A vertical format negative. Negatives numbers P34470 to P34472 are of sampan 128 and P34472 to P34474 are of the other boat.
