A starboard quarter view of a fisher sampan on the shore at Weihaiwei
A starboard quarter view, taken from fine off the stern, of a fisher sampan pulled up on the beach at Weihaiwei. She has an open stern, raised bulwarks at the bow and stern and two pairs of thole pins on her bow. Her rudder has been unshipped and she is of a completely different hull construction to sampan 128. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938. A vertical format negative. Negatives numbers P34472 to P34474 are of this boat.
