A slightly distant port quarter view, taken from fine off the stern, of the Weihaiwei fisher type junk 2197 under sail off Weihaiwei. She has single lug sails set on each mast and her port number is painted on the hull. Two Royal Navy County class heavy cruiser, one of which is the Cumberland (1926), are anchored in the background. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938. A vertical format negative.
