The photographer is looking forward and to port showing how the mainmast is fitted into the mast box. The main halyard block is on the right. The photographer was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938.
