A slightly distant port side view, taken from abaft the beam well above deck level, of a two masted, fully rigged and equipped model of a 'duck' type sampan at the Roman Catholic church at Liu Kung Tao near Weihaiwei. Her foresail has three battens and her mainsail has five battens. The model was commissioned by Lieutenant David Waters and was made by Tung Ya and his assistants. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938.
