On board a four masted Antung trader type junk under sail at Weihaiwei. The photographer is looking to starboard and aft from the port side of the top of the accommodation shelter showing a man standing in the rudder well ahead of the starboard mizzen mast. the top of the rudder post and the tiller are in the foreground. The photographer was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938.
