A model of a Yeungkong fisher type junk
A starboard side view of the poop of a fully rigged model of a Yeungkong fisher type junk. The model, which is displayed on a wooden stand on a table, was commissioned by D W Waters and made by Tung Ya and his assistants at the back of the Roman Catholic Church in Liu Kung Tao, near Weihaiwei. The photographer is looking almost vertically down on the model from ahead of the mizzen mast showing the lower part of the mainsail, the waist with the hatches to the fish hold in place, the awning support booms and the rudder and post in the well on the poop. Negatives numbers P34571 to P34578 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
