Tinned chocolate
A tin of chocolate as presented to British troops during the Boer War by Queen Victoria. The tin is gilt and has a red lid with a blue border. There is a circular embossed portrait of Queen Victoria in the centre, coloured gold. To the left the Royal monogram 'V R I' below a crown, tro the right, 'SOUTH AFRICA 1900'. Below, a facsimile hand-written inscription: 'I wish you a happy New Year Victoria R I.' Contains the remains of chocolate in silver paper.
